Lisa MacLeod is an active flute performer and teacher based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She has performed with numerous ensembles in Calgary, including the Calgary Civic Symphony, Front Row Centre and Morpheus Theatres, and she currently holds positions in the Ambrose Chamber Orchestra, Calgary Wind Symphony and Midnight Taiko Kai.
Lisa's primary teachers have included Sara Hahn and Mary Sullivan. She has also performed for Emily Marks of the NACO, Elizabeth Koch of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and Lea Pearson and Meerenai Shim during Summerflute. Lisa has significant experience working with beginning flutists and her teaching style incorporates elements of Suzuki method. She is a current member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas along with the National Flute Association.
Lisa MacLeod has been teaching in Calgary for over 20 years and is in demand as a head start flute clinician. Her teaching style is inclusive and encouraging, and has allowed her students to excel and receive gold medal awards with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Lisa is dedicated to sharing the love of music and hopes to inspire all of her students to strive for their own musical goals.
Come learn the flute in a relaxed, fun environment! I offer weekly, one on one lessons. I accept students of all ages and abilities, including young students (ages 5 and up). I have significant experience working with beginning flutists and my teaching style incorporates elements of Suzuki method.
Lessons can be a combination of working on flute repertoire (Royal Conservatory of Music based) and school band music and can be tailor to meet you/your child's needs.
My home studio in Coventry Hills is conveniently located in North Calgary and has quick access to Stoney Trail.
